This week’s photo contest for the Kids Category is “My Friend and I” ~ I’ve taken tons of pictures of my daughter Kasen and her precious friend Sadie, but this one came to mind immediately when I found out the theme for this week.  I just love this picture of the two of them.  We had set up a tea party play date for them, and as you can see, they were having a blast - giggling, pouring imaginary tea, clinking their tea cups together and saying “Cheers,” and pretending to eat the deliciously looking tarts (not real of course) . . . . then Sadie’s Mom and I had to break out the REAL food - fruit snacks.

This is just an idea for a photo that I had last Friday, and I really love how it turned out.  The play gun that Kasen is holding was my brother’s play gun when he was a little boy.  Kasen had never seen it until right before this photo shoot.  I put it in her hand and asked her to pretend to blow.  She did.  She let me take three shots (pics), and this was the first one I took.  Lucky me! ;)  After Kasen went to bed,  I asked for Brad’s assistance to help me since I wanted to photograph smoke . . . and I certainly couldn’t do that on my own.  He lit a few matches and blew them out, and I was able to capture the smoke the way I wanted.  I then took the two photos and merged them together and this is what I got. :)  Just a fun shot that reminds of the old western photos that they used to take at Six Flags over Texas.   I wonder if they still do that?  And if you’re concerned or wondering, the play guns are back in lock-up.

My how they've grown!!

It is Tuesday right?! LOL  Really, I rarely know what day it is anymore, but I think I'll get this posted before Wednesday hits if I'm lucky.

It's really fun to go back and look at some of the photographs/snapshots that we've taken and to see just how much our little pumpkin has grown.  Wow, she really had some cheeks. LOL  This was taken on January 5, 2006.  I love that you can see her two little teeth on the bottom poking through her gums.  And she's just the cutest, chubbiest little baby that could definitely light up a room.

Here she is - almost exactly two years ago - and five days away from being five months old ~

Kasen has her Canada gear on because it was The 2006 Junior World Championship Gold Medal Game between Russia and Canada.  I'm happy to say that Canada beat Russia.  Woohoo!!!  I'm not exactly sure of the final score, but I *think* it was 5-0.

Okay, I have totally slacked on the "Time Honored Tuesday" theme, but I'm here now.  Kind of late, but still here just the same.

I was looking back at some old photos and I found this one and LOVED it.  Poor picture sitting in a folder and never even edited.  It was taken on December 24, 2006.  What JOY this little one has brought into our lives.  I love how she has her hand in the Christmas tree trying to pull out yet another ornament.  I vividly remember that she was looking at Brad for his approval, which she did not get by the way. LOL  But, see her face anyhow, cutting those eyes and giving that impish grin - I should have known then that trouble was just brewing. LOL

I thought it would be so fun to travel back in time each Tuesday, posting old pictures here of anything.  It would probably be pictures of Kasen mostly, and I did post one . . . and then I promptly forgot. *rolling eyes*  Big surprise, eh?! LOL

Well, I'm baaaaack and here's just the one - taken on October 30, 2007.  I think she looks quite the same, but she doesn't quite have that baby look anymore.  Or should I say, she doesn't quite have the cheeks that she used to have. LOL

These were taken in April of 2006.  Isn't it wild what a chunk she was???  Now, she's this little lean machine! LOL

Love that chewing on her fingers, she's obviously teething here.  It's a lot of work to grow teeth.

I'm cracking up looking at those cheeks.  They were SO kissable . . still are, there's just not as much of them. LOL

She was really into her hands - looking at them, feeling them, totally amazed by them.  Oh, and those dimples on her chubby, little hands, can you stand it??!!
