This week’s theme for I Heart Faces is “We Are Family” and must have at least one adult in the photo.  I went in my daughter’s room one night and saw my husband with our children during story time.  I knew I needed to seize the moment on film, so I ran and grabbed my camera.  I’m so glad I did because it melts my heart every time I see this pic - knowing how special this is each and every night.  It’s one of the special times that I remember sharing with my Dad and my brother every evening. I love that my children are experiencing the same thing with their father.

This week’s photo contest for I Heart Faces is “Best Face Photo.”  It also has to have been taken within the past few months.  I took this photo on January 9, 2010 in our front living room.  I was/still am recovering from knee surgery and I wanted to take a quick break from laying in bed to get a few pics.  What could be better for recovery than to take some photos of this precious face.  I took quite a few that I love, but this one makes me laugh every single time!

This week’s theme at I Heart Faces is “Balloons” - I thought of this picture right away because it has a very special meaning to me.  I know that balloons usually evoke a happy feeling, resulting in joyous expressions from children and adults alike.  However; sometimes balloons bring about longing, wishing, wanting for more . . . for more time, to share with loved ones that left this world too soon.  On this April day, we began with a bouquet of pink and white balloons, and one by one we watched them float upward.  Then we were left with just this one.  We were releasing them for an unbelievably special little girl who was celebrating her first birthday, yet not here, in Heaven. *tears*  This balloon was for “K” - so loved and so missed, yet never forgotten.

This week’s theme at I Heart Faces is “Halloween Dress-Up” and I knew immediately I wanted a picture of our Chunky Monkey in his monkey costume.  I took some pics this afternoon with a very uncooperative subject LOL, and this was my best one.  I still want to get a great shot with his signature smile.  Now that he has a tooth to show off, I’d like to get that in the pics too.  Yep, you heard that right, he has his first tooth!!  It popped up the day before he turned four months old.  And you know what, Kasen’s first tooth popped up the day before she turned four months old too.  Isn’t that wild??!!

Since I’m throwing in news, here’s the BEST yet - we finalized this little monkey last Thursday - he is now and forever legally ours!!!!  Woooohooooooo!!!!

This week’s theme at  I Heart Faces is “Excitement” - I chose this photograph because I just thought it was so cute of Kasen.  She was SO excited that she received a birthday card ON her birthday from her Mimi.  It helped that the envelope was PINK (her favorite color) AND she loved the bright circles on the envelope as well.  This was Kasen’s classic excitement face and it was always followed by an audible “Ohhhhhhhhh.”

This week’s theme at I Heart Faces is “Blue” - so I immediately thought of all the pics I take in the bluebonnets every year.  It’s such a Texas tradition and I can hardly wait to take pics of the little man out there next spring.  Anyway, here is Kasen in the bluebonnets - as you can see, she was quite shocked that there were so many. LOL She was saying “WOOOOOWWWWW!!”  It really was a great field of flowers and just a perfect picture opportunity.

Again, it’s been a while since I entered.  Our newest little bundle has kept us on our toes, but things are starting to settle down a bit.  He slept last night from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. - that’s my boy!!!!!  AND, I actually have more than five minutes on the computer for a change.  Woohooo!! When I saw the theme for this week’s entry, I thought about this picture first.  Then I started changing my mind because I have so many candid shots of Kasen that I love, but I just kept coming back to this one . . . . . . mostly because it makes me laugh.  That was also Kasen’s first time spitting in the pool - it really caught Brad off guard as you can see by his face.  However; he did get that head turned quite quickly. LOL  I would love to say that it was also her last time spitting in the pool, but that just wouldn’t be true.  She knows that it’s not allowed, but sometimes the temptation is just too great for a two year old.  She’s now four and I still hear “No Spitting” on occasion. LOL  I do have to say that the distance of her spitting escapade was quite impressive though.

Whew, I’ve missed a LOT of contests - just crazy busy with our new little guy, and Kasen woke up with croup this morning.  However; when I saw that the theme was “Bubbles” this week, I knew right away which picture I would enter.  This picture makes me laugh out loud every time I see it.  Kasen was taking a bubble bath and wanted to turn on the jets . . well, that just made the bubbles bigger and bigger until they were almost flowing over the edge of the tub.  She thought it was really funny until they got just a little too big for her. LOL  I love how her little head is sticking out and she’s giving me that face making you wonder what she’s thinking.  Too funny.

New week, new contest.  At least this week I’m not struggling to get my entry in before the contest closes.  I’m a day ahead!!  Wooohooo!!  And for those of you checking, still no news on the baby.  We are eagerly awaiting the call though!!

This picture was taken at the end of a photo shoot and little “Z” was tuckered out.  He’s snuggling his bear and Daddy is snuggling him - too precious.  I adore the look on Dad’s face - you can tell that he is totally smitten with his son.

Whew, my computer is finally working again.  It had a virus and we had to run numerous scans on it, which left it unusable for several days.  So frustrating, but I’m thrilled that it just started working again this evening.  Just in time for  the I Heart Faces Photo Contest.

This week’s theme is “Sepia-Toned.”  I took this picture of Kasen in her cute little hat and I thought it looked great in sepia.  I love this picture because Kasen is so quiet and still, which is quite a rarity; and she has those beautiful piercing eyes!
