I was taking pictures of my yummy birthday breakfast this morning!!

And as I was taking this picture, in came a little sneak!! LOL

Brad leaned over to Kasen this morning during breakfast (with her OWN waffle concoction) and was telling
her a secret.  Then he told her to tell me that they’re going on a
secret mission.

Kasen whispered "We’re going on a secret mission - - we’re going to get your BIRTHDAY CAKE!!" Brad just busted out laughing and said, "You weren’t supposed to tell
her what her what the secret mission is." Tooo cute. I can hardly wait to see what
our little pumpkin picked out.

Here’s the sunshine that lights up my days.

Kasen and I are finally back after a whirlwind trip to visit family.  It was an amazing visit full of love and elation.  And I’m glad we are home - you know, there really is NO place like home!!!  Of course, we were missing Brad.  He stayed here in Texas holding down the fort.  Thanks sweetie!

Since it’s been a while since I shared pics - I’ll share a few from this past weekend.  If you have e-mailed me or called me, I’m still playing catch-up, so please bare with me.

We had a mini Easter egg hunt on Saturday.  We told Kasen that her eggs were empty on Saturday, but by Sunday morning, the Easter bunny will have filled her eggs full of treats.  She could hardly wait.  Actually, I think she was more excited about the Easter bunny eating her carrots and drinking her milk that she left out for him on Saturday night. LOL

And here she is grabbing as many eggs as she could before running back to her basket to throw them in.  That’s my girl - all or nothing!! LOL

Now we’re on to Easter Sunday - Kasen had to wait until after church to do the whole Easter bunny thing.  You know, we do have priorities. LOL  We attended an incredible church service with breathtaking music and it was a joy to share Easter Sunday with my nephew Lucas and Brad’s parents.  It will probably be the last time we’ll attend church with Brad’s parents for a while since they’ll be leaving for Canada soon.  I can hardly stand to think that we won’t see them every Sunday morning as we stroll into church, and get to share Sunday dinners together as a family.  It has been one of the millions of highlights of having them here in Texas for the winter.  I could go on and on, but now the tears are flowing, so I’ll stop.

Funny, out of all the goodies in her Easter basket, she was most intrigued by the Pez container and Pez candies. LOL ~

And last but not least, leaving you with a picture that totally cracks me up!!  Mostly because it doesn’t even look like Kasen, but just the look on her face and the way she is holding her basket - pure excitement!!

I hope that YOUR baskets were overflowing with a multitude of rejoicing on this past Easter weekend.  I know ours were —– thankful for so many things . . . my family, our health . . . .  but most of all, I’m thankful for grace.

Or should I say "slamming the ivories!" LOL  Actually she’s pretty gentle *most* of the time.  She loves to play quite often and says "I pway payno." Tooooo cute.  This piano has been around for a while, I learned how to play on it, as well as my brother.  I would love to sell it because it’s taking up so much room in my studio, but how can I resist this face that asks to play it every day?!  I can’t, so it will stay around a little longer . . . and hopefully she’ll be interested enough to learn how to play too.

I’m short on words because I injured my shoulder once again.  Today I had a cortisone injection and it hasn’t quite kicked in yet.  I’m hoping to be pain free in about 48 hours.  *crossing fingers*

Doesn’t she look like she’s at her first piano recital?! LOL

My husband puts these cute little short videos on his Ipod so Kasen can watch them on plane rides.  Well, his poor video ipod has been broken and he just got it back on Sunday.  Guess who found it???!!!  Yep, you guessed it . . . .  Kasen!  You cannot hide ONE thing from this child.  She notices EVERYTHING!!   We had to let her test it out to make sure everything was working! LOL  She just looks so cute wearing his headphones.

Sadly, Kasen woke up this morning with a 100.5 fever and laid in bed all day watching movies.  Poor little thing.  She’ll be missing another day of Mother’s Day Out tomorrow and I know she will be SO disappointed.  I’ll be hoping again that it will be gone tomorrow morning.  I really am trying to stay positive!!

It’s been a while, so I thought I would share one of my latest faves of Kasen.  I finally got a few pictures of her in her Valentine’s Day dress.  She had a blast running around on Saturday in her "twirly dress with the pretty hearts" LOL  She ran full force while I tried to snap pic after pic, she jumped up and down while yelling "TA-DA" and hiked up her dress *trying* to look like a princess. LOL  She is definitely a character.

We’ve had such a rough start to the year with sickness in our household.  My Mother flew home today and was still trying to get over that awful upper respiratory infection she had/has.  I was thinking, "Okay, now everyone in the house is finally well!!"  Or so I thought . . . . I picked up Kasen from Mother’s Day Out today and her teacher said that Kasen had been complaining of being sleepy all morning.  Then she said "I hope she isn’t coming down with something."  Oh nooooooooo!!  Please NO MORE sickness.  Well, she was acting sluggish all afternoon and she went to bed with a slight fever.  I hope with all my heart that this will be GONE tomorrow morning.  I really don’t think I can take one.more.round of illness.  I’m just starting to get back in the swing of things and I’m so behind as it is.  One day at a time, right????
