I have to preface this by saying that my mother-in-law (Brad’s Mom) is not fond of these creatures . . . at all. LOL We do have geckos in our yard, but this is the first year that I’ve seen these little guys. They are called anoles, rhymes with cannoli. Anyway, they are bright green when in the bushes or grass, then turn brown when on the bricks or in the dirt. They’re really more afraid of you than you are of them . . . well, except for Heather! ;) We have about three or four that have been out and about lately. I’ve seen one female, two males for sure, maybe three. The female has a stripe down her back and she’s always brown, I think! When the males become territorial or are mating, they do this crazy thing that looks like push-ups and then their throat flares out. The thing on their throat is called a dewlap and it’s bright pinkish red in color. I did get a picture of that too, but I didn’t want Heather to have a heart attack! I’ll try to show it later after she recovers from this picture!!
Here’s our new friend! Sorry Heather . . . . . really!

We also had a mini family photo shoot this afternoon since we don’t have any recent pics of all of us together. Whoa baby that was tough!! I just had the camera set on an interval timer and it was difficult getting Kasen to actually look in the direction of the camera. I mean, nobody’s there, what IS there to look at?! LOL If I’m brave, I’ll show you some of the outtakes!! LOL
See ya’ tomorrow!!
