I took a series of pictures of Kasen jumping this afternoon.  She hasn’t been too thrilled to be in the studio lately, so when I suggested that she could JUMP and I would take pictures.  Well, she was ALL over that! LOL

She jumped and jumped and just had a blast.  I got some great shots.  And then we even took a little video of her singing.  Whenever I get the time (yeah right!), I’ll upload it and share.  Yeah, I know what you’re thinking.  It might be a year from now.  And to that, I so “NO WAY, you have NO faith in me whatsoever.  I’m hurt.  Really hurt.  Because actually, it will probably be TWO years from now!” LOL

For now, I can handle uploading this ONE pic, then it’s off to do MORE laundry - does that stuff ever end?!  Ugh.

Tonight I am SO thankful for my wonderful in-laws.  They took Kasen this morning when I wasn’t feeling well and entertained her ALL day!!  Of course, she had a blast with them like she always does, but it was wonderful to be able to go back to bed and not worry about how I was going to entertain her all day while I was feeling crummy.  Thankfully, the rest was just what I needed and I feel great now.  Oh yeah, they made supper for ALL of us too - what an added bonus!  Thanks again Doug & Heather - you’re the best!!

It’s time again for the weekly photo contest - this week’s theme is “silhouettes” -  I’ve been dragging my feet on entering because I have so much to do to get ready for the baby.  We received a call this morning and “K”  informed us that little guy may be arriving earlier than expected!! WOW!!  I’m guessing it’s time to get all of our suitcases packed for the long drive ahead!!

Here’s my entry - I took this for a senior picture.  Her church is very important to her, so we wanted to incorporate that into the photos.  I really do love how it turned out - she was twirling and holding her hands in the air.  Don’t forget to check out all the other incredible entries at I Heart Faces

We had a GREAT Memorial Day!!  Just fun in the sun, swimming, eating and relaxing.  Well, I take that back, I was relaxing! ;)  Brad painted baby boy’s closet, and then he and his  Dad installed the new Elfa shelves, baskets and drawers.  It looks fantastic!!  I can hardly wait to fill it with baby boy clothes, diapers, wipes, toys and blankets.  Soooo, guess what I’ll be doing this week??

I did take some pictures today, but these are not them! :)  These were actually taken yesterday - we call it “The Day of the Mosquitos!”  Poor Kasen was bitten about six times and you should see the HUGE welts they left behind. :(  I feel so sorry for her, she woke up this morning itching all over again and cursing those stinkin’ mean bugs!!  She asked if it was okay if  she said she hated bugs.  LOL  We tell her not to say the word “hate” but I was actually tempted to let her use it for this because I’m so mad at them myself.  We are keeping lots of good medicine on the bites, but just as soon as it wears off, she certainly lets us know.

Here’s Kasen yesterday - I used different effects on these - I love the colors.  And yes, I did get some laughing, smiling shots, but I just thought these were really interesting!

Honestly, I’m loving photographing all these little boys of my friends.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a sassy tutu, frilly hats, high pitched giggles, and gorgeous dresses, but there is something different about photographing a boy.  I love capturing the softness that little boys possess, catching them when they are in the throws of a deep belly laugh, freezing time when they are running at 90 mph,  and really, just getting to be a part of their world . . . if only for an instant.  It’s very special.

Yep, just one more pic today - I know I’ve been short on words lately, but there is just SO much going on.  Brad and I finally made some decisions about the baby’s room, so that’s at least one or two things marked off my list.  Now to get to the one thousand and fifty eight things left to do.  Ugh.  Little guy’s birth mom is due FIVE weeks from today.  YIKES!!

Here’s our sweetie pie - it’s great to look at this cute little face on here, because she has really been testing her limits lately.  *insert rolling eyes here*  I guess she’s trying to stake her territory before little dude arrives.

This is a little different for me, but I thought it called for the vintage look. :)  I’m glad I captured this too, because we get this look a LOT!

It’s time again for the weekly photo contest.  The theme this week is “Blurb Book” - enter your best face picture.  If your pic is chosen, it will be in the I Heart Faces Blurb Book - pretty cool.  Welllll, I have LOTS of face pictures that I adore, but after long deliberation, I decided to enter this one of my friend’s beautiful little girl, Sofia.  I love her eyes, the way she’s holding her crazy hat, and her cuter than cute expression.  It really was super hard to choose because my friends have the most adorable and photogenic children.  I didn’t use a pic of my own daughter because I have THE most difficult time just getting her to look at the camera.  I think it’s time to hire someone else to take her pics.
