We were able to meet our sweet friends, Rayne and Sadie on Friday the 13th.  We met at the mall, but the play area where we thought the girls would play, was closed.  Soooo, we ended up going to see the big snow globes, AND surprise, surprise, Santa was there too.  :D  The girls were very excited to see him.  Sadie was a little apprehensive at first, but she warmed up quickly.  I do have some cute pictures of Sadie and Santa, and Kasen and Santa as well, but I’ll have to come back and add those later.  Just remind me!  The girls had so much fun and it has been way too long since we have spent time with them.  We also had a great lunch, and as usual, it all went entirely too quickly.  Thanks again Rayne and Sadie - we had a blast!!!

I said I had more pictures of this little beauty and I certainly do.  I just didn’t get to it until now.  I’ve been gone most of the day and now I’m a little tired, but it was wonderful to get out and have fun.  I’m so grateful that my husband feels it’s necessary for me to pamper myself and do something without the kids.  And I’m so grateful to my mother-in-law for providing the agenda today.  I had a GREAT time!!  Soooo, thanks all around.

After school yesterday, we met one of Kasen’s friends, and her Mom, and her cousin, at the park.  It was fun all around.  After Kasen and Carson played for a bit, I was able to talk Carson into letting me take a few pics.  She was a real trooper, even after a nasty fall on the brick steps.  Ouch!  Even after that, I was able to get some more great shots of her.  It wasn’t too terribly hard, she’s absolutely gorgeous.  I sometimes forget how much I enjoy photography, until I get to just play and take random pictures.  It is so much fun for me - trying to capture all the faces that little ones make - and capture on film how magical childhood actually is - seeing the world through their eyes . . . . and stunning eyes she has too.

I know what I’m trying to capture when I set out for a mini photo shoot like this.  However; Holden doesn’t! LOL  After I took this, I have some great out take shots - he was NOT happy Bob.  Not happy.  If you don’t get the reference to Bob, then you haven’t watched The Incredibles  at least one million times. Okay, that’s exaggerating, but not by much. LOL

There are so many leaves falling right now and it does finally look like fall . . . . . well, for the most part.  We even have some beautiful orange and gold trees to admire.  It doesn’t *really* feel like it too much, not when it’s still in the high 70’s and low 80’s, but I’ll take it.  Since I’ve been wading through these leaves every week while walking Kasen to her Mother’s Day Out class, I decided I would bring my camera and get some cute shots of Kasen.  I imagined Kasen throwing the leaves in the air, laying on the ground with leaves all around her, jumping in a big pile of leaves, and so on and so on.  Welllllllll, that didn’t happen.  I didn’t get ONE of those shots that I had anticipated.  However; right before we were heading for the car, I ran into a friend of mine leaving the church.  She watches two adorable children during the day and she was walking them to the car.  She asked if I could take a few pictures and of course I was willing:  cooperative subjects - check, cute clothes - check, gorgeous curls - check, big beautiful eyes - check.  Yep, a happy accident turned into these sweet photos.  What fun it is just to play with no agenda in site.  I’m very pleased with the results.

This was taken at the zoo on Sunday.  I love the fall colors, how peaceful they look, and Kasen’s little hand on the back of Brad’s head.  Calm, joy, trust, love.  Definitely a new fave!!

Okay, now I’m going to be singing that song all evening and all day tomorrow. LOL  Brad, Kasen and I headed to the Fort Worth Zoo this morning.  Holden hung out with Mae Mae and Papa and we are SO grateful that they were willing to take care of him for us!  We purposely didn’t tell Kasen that we were going to the zoo until this morning.  If you have a little one, you completely understand.  Brad was given free tickets to the zoo and we couldn’t have been more excited.  We do go to the Dallas Zoo quite often, but it doesn’t even measure up to the Fort Worth Zoo.  If we lived closer, I would definitely have a membership there - Fort Worth Zoo is awesome!!  When I told Kasen that it would be about an hour to drive there, you know, a LONG drive.  Her eyes bulged out of her head and she asked, “Like driving to FLORIDA?!” LOL  Poor kid, that really was a long drive for her . . . . . . well, for us too.  But it was worth it - that’s where we got our little man.

I do have LOTS of cool pictures, but I still need to edit them and we haven’t even eaten supper yet, so I’m out of here.  Leaving you with one pic for now.  I just love these guys.

I keep forgetting to say what Kasen’s costume was for Halloween.  Of course, we had the “Chunky Monkey” be a monkey. LOL  Kasen picked her own costume - yes, another princess. This year it was Cinderella.  It was a pretty close call between Cinderella and Snow White, but Cinderella won.  The biggest difference between last year and this one, is that she had a blue dress this year instead of a pink one.  I was kind of wanting her to go a different direction because I see her in princess costumes daily, but she’s determined that one.  She knows what she wants and doesn’t waver.  Gotta’ love a girl who makes a decision and sticks with it.  I’ll secretly hope that next year she’s something totally different.  I’m even wishing for a pirate, or a race car driver, or a clown . . . . . . anything but a princess. LOL  However; Kasen just came in the room and I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween next year and she just grinned and said, “Sleeping Beauty.”  Oh my!

She IS a beautiful princess though and she did look stunning as Cinderella.  Yep, she can totally  pull off the princess look - but that’s because she’s a true princess in every sense of the word!!

And silly she is.  I just love the way she is so incredibly funny when she wakes up without even trying.  I love the way she crosses her legs, hops around and when I ask her if she needs to go the restroom, she says “No, I’m just dancing, see?” LOL  Then she darts around the room with her cool dance moves *trying* to convince me that she doesn’t need to go relieve herself at all.  I love the way she has fashion shows daily, even if I don’t like the fact that it causes me a lot more work in the end.  She parades around, telling me about each outfit she has on and asks each time, “Doesn’t this look beeee-you-ti-fullll?”  I love the way she asks Brad to play with her.  If he says he’s too tired, she starts with a shocked look on her face, then it’s as if she “gets it” - a knowing grin spreads across her lips, while darting those big eyes up towards his, and asks, “You’re just joking, right Dad??  You’re just joking.”  Oh yeah, that gets Brad every.single.time.  I love the way she tries to get Holden to laugh.  She uses this really low voice and makes these amusing faces that no doubt make him giggle.  I love the way she cracks herself up at bath time, making silly noises, creating funny faces, singing absurd songs and yes, making herself burp - that one really cracks her up the most.  Oh the giggles that burps create.  Yep, you don’t have to have a boy to get the pleasure of that. LOL

Kasen is super silly and fun and wonderful and we are having the best time enjoying all that makes up the magic of Kasen.

Our *little* man, aka Tank, Chunky Monkey, Sport, Dough-Boy, Chubba-Chubba.  I’m sure there’s more, but my mind fails me right now.  It’s late and I’ve already used up all my allotted brain cells for the day.  I’m officially done! LOL  Well, I hauled little dude to the doctor today for his four month appointment.  We were a little late on the schedule, but it’s understandable.  The doctor’s office has been swamped with sick kids.  Thankfully this time, we sat on the “Well Side.”  We’ve been on the “Sick Side” way too often lately - for Kasen, but not for Holden, not yet.  I know our time is coming, but I’m hoping to hold off as long as possible.  So far, he’s a healthy little tank!  The doctor gave a glowing report on how healthy Holden actually is - he’s still in the 75th percentile for height (tall guy), and now he’s in the 90th percentile for weight.  Which means, he’s kept the same percentile for height, but dropped 5 percent for weight.  When I replied, “Hey little dude, you’re down 5% for weight,” the doctor laughingly replied, “Well, I think he still has quite a bit of padding there.” LOL  Yep, I’d say so.

Holden was so happy when we got to the doctor’s office.  He was laughing, squealing, having a grand ol’ time.  Then the dreaded shots came and he stuck out that bottom lip and looked at me like I had just betrayed all of his trust.  Three band-aids later and we were done with the torture.  Even when I went to check out, he just couldn’t get over the fact that I had let him down, let that mean ol’ nurse hurt him and let Mr. A take blood from his thumb.  All the ladies in the office couldn’t get over that bottom lip either while professing how cute Holden was, how sad he looked, and how heart wrenching that cry was.  Holden, you definitely have a gift - you gain so much sympathy wherever you go.  Those rosy red cheeks, that sweet bottom lip all puckered out, those big blue eyes and that sweet round Charlie Brown head - you have ‘em right where you want ‘em.  I think it’s time to go snuggle my little guy and give him some more smooches.  He definitely earned them today.
